My baby "Penny" has a swollen eye. The breeder said maybe a scratch. I isolated her and used triple antibiotic, VetRx and cleaned with saline first. Tractor Supply said to try Terramycin ointment 2-3 times a day, and keep the Save a Chick Electrolyte mix in her water and plain water available. I gave her some of the mix from a syringe last night and she does seem more perky this morning. T.S. also suggested maybe a left over antibiotic if I had some. I do have Ceflexen capsules, but am scared to over do stuff. Not planning a vet visit, but don't want her uncomfortable either. Thank you all for any advice.

Sorry to hear about Penny. How is she doing today?

Could you post a few pictures of her eye?. Besides the eye edema, is she showing any other symptoms, such as sneezing, lethargy, nasal or eye discharge, rattled breathing, etc? Do you see any evidence of a scratch on her eye?

Has she shown any improvement after applying the Terramycin?
