I've got a BR that's about 6 months old & not laying yet. I think she's getting close. She's been having bloody stools sporadically for a month or so, with no symptoms of any illness. Her weight is good, eyes bright, legs good, wattles getting darker as she gets closer to laying.

None of the other birds have had blood in their stool and all are healthy as far as I can tell.

Any ideas?

Worm overload, perhaps? When I see that in a younger bird, I almost always go to cocci and it's not impossible that she has it, but there's no way to be 100% sure. What you could do is worm her with fenbendazole (Safeguard). It has anti-protozoan properties, so might help if it is cocci, but will eradicate the worms for sure.
