Hi all. One of my 11week old pullets cracked her upper beak a few days back. I seperated her from the flock and used a bit of super glue gel and teabag fabric to reinforce the cracked area which was working fine until today. the cracked tip is now barely hanging on. she does not seem to be in distress and it is NOT bleeding. Do I remove the breakage at this point? will this require vet care or should I just continue keeping her separate until the beak can grow out?

I would trim off the hanging/broken bit to facilitate eating and return her to the flock.
Okay, done! The break does appear to slightly go beyond where the tissue starts. Is that going be alright? And you think she will be fine with the others? Thank you!

If the beak is cracked further back you might want to carefully coat the crack with Super Glue. There may be some scuffling, but it will be worse if you wait longer. Just monitor to assure that things do not get out of control.

And make sure she has a deep enough food dish to eat from as it will be a challenge for her to pick up single bits of food from the ground. Usually chickens learn to manage with chipped beaks :)

Here she is after removal. It doesn't appear to be cracked any further.
