sometime yesterday in late after noon- dark something got one of my pullets by the head it seems. I don't know if it reached in, or she stuck her head out.
she was off to the side when I went out to feed them and lock them in for the night. she is a Delaware and very friendly, so I knew something was wrong. the hide from the top of her head is gone, and the right side of her face is not any better, at least most of the eye is still there. I put neosporen on it last night, and put her in my brooder with food & water. I driped some water off my finger too. she was all snugled up in my arms and I though about bringing her in, but when I put her back in the brooder she was walking around talking to the other birds, and just befor I left she was preening her self.
this morning her color was lighter, and she was much quieter, just standing ther half asleep. I guess she did not fully go into shock until later in ther night. she is now in my bathroom, warmer and closer to me. for the most part she is sleeping. I don't know if she is drinking or eating on her own, but I doubt it. my family is in town and going to bring some gatoraid home with them. I'll give her some with a droper.
is there anything else I can do?
