Pullet with saddle feathers?

Yes, I thought her coloring suggested pullet. The lacing on her feathers makes it look a little pointed, though, so I got nervous.

I am glad to hear she may still be a "she"!
Lacing commonly creates the illusion of pointed feathers - nothing to worry about. :) I'm 100% positive this pretty bird is a pullet, especially after examining one of my EE cockerels at 4 months of age. Compare his male specific plumage with that on your little lady.

Well, this is good news. Thank you for your expertise!

Is it true that the orange/black coloration usually means it’s a pullet? Are most EE roos black and white with red limited to their shoulders? I have another orange and black colored EE at my school (where I teach) that I’m pretty sure is a cockerel.

I had a blue and orange roo, so I wouldn't say that the coloration is specific to a pullet. :idunno
