I have a pullet whose comb was red and now has yellow on it. Mostly at the base. It seems strange to me.
She's seven months old and I'm pretty sure has been laying, although not a lot.
I don't know if it matters, but she has a really large comb for a RIR pullet. I've seen other breeds with large combed hens, but my other RIRs are much smaller.

She Seems well enough. It's just strange.

I posted this earlier but got no response.

Can anyone help?

It might help if you could post a picture so we can see what you are talking about. You know, that whole 'picture is worth a thousand words' thing.

Hard to tell from the picture, but that black speck could be the beginning of fowl pox. Ours began with whitish areas on the combs/wattles, then black specks, then yellowish liquid filled pustules that gradually dried up and formed warty scabs.

Take a close look at the exposed skin (comb, wattles, legs) of the rest of your flock and see if you can spot anything on the rest of them.
