Pullet wondering off alone..

Sometimes chickens are hard to follow !! I've tried to see where my wanders ago , never made it to where they were going depending on where you live , it's winter and my chickens sure arent laying and definitely have no nests:hit

Yeah, I have one building with a loft where I keep a couple of big Ohio brooders and some other equipment. I had been getting a dearth of eggs from that flock. Then one day I caught a bird jumping down from the loft. To my shock when I put a ladder up there and found about 50 eggs in one of the brooders.

We do have a run, when we aren’t home they stay in the run but on weekends and evenings when we are home they free range.
If you don't free range full time, I doubt she's laying in range area.
Is she laying?
You might keep them confined 24/7 for a week or two, just to be sure she's laying in coop nests.

I honestly don’t know if she’s laying or not right now! I don’t think she is. I don’t think she’s laying when she’s free ranging. I followed her around yesterday and went down all her little paths. Nothing. But I probably will go ahead and coop them for a bit and see.

Might be why she's an 'outcast'....non-layers are lower in the pecking order.
Are your other pullets laying?

Here's some tips on how to tell....
