I have 2 questions:

1) Have a cross silkie/barred rock. 7 weeks old. I know one is a rooster (left in the picture) but I can’t be sure about this one (circled).. what do you think? Got a pic of maw and paw.

2) I have another hen sitting on eggs and it’s day 24. I candled them and only 4 were fully dark with an air bubble.. what’s the longest a hen should be left on eggs d/t health concerns?

I would say the longest a hen should sit on eggs should be 25-28 days no longer , then after those days are up I incubate them myself if they are fertile and growing ( just to be safe).

Sorry I don’t know much about silkies but in my opinion it looks like a female .
