when I was reading on this site I saw some ducks be called pullets and some hens. Is there a difference? if so what? thanks so much!!

A pullet is a young duck hen which is a.female duck. A pullet is older than a duckling but under a year old. A male duck is called a drake.

Many people use many different terms. Technically, a pullet is a young chicken but many transfer the term to ducks.
I refer to mine as:
ducklings- day old to about a month
drakelets and ducklets- month old to 5-6 months old
drake and hen- 6 month+

Ducks, depending on breed, mature at 4-6 months so that is why I start refering to them as adults at 6 months.

It can be confusing to refer to a female duck as a duck though, as duck is the species not the gender. People can also get confused when we call a female a hen as they think may we are talking about chickens. As long as you are clear in your questions/statements, you can use whatever term you choose. ;)
