Hi DL - @DobieLover wanted to follow back up!Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
Chickens can be horrible at roost time.
You need to fully secure the coop to the run and have no gaps larger than 1/2". Fishers are incredibly strong, smart predators and it will likely come back for more.
If your run is predator proof, there will be no need to lock them in the coop. Then the pullets will join the hens when they are better integrated.
How much roost space is in the red coop? They need at least 1 linear foot per bird.
I winterize my run at the end of November with tarps made from reinforced poly sheeting that I first snap onto the framing then pin down to the framing by screwing down ripped in half deck boards over each vertical framing member.Should I be concerned?
This is a beautiful setup! All that snowI winterize my run at the end of November with tarps made from reinforced poly sheeting that I first snap onto the framing then pin down to the framing by screwing down ripped in half deck boards over each vertical framing member.View attachment 3251343
There is ventilation at the triangular portion of the left end of the pitched roof as well as between all the rafters of the run.
Give the new girls time to integrate on their own. They will join the older girls in the coop if there is enough roost space for everyone in there.
