Pullets bathing in lime?

I found four of my girls 'fluffing' themselves in one of my horse stalls. Mixed in with the sawdust is a healthy dose of Lime...will this hurt them?
I shooed them out and back into the coop.
I truely hope lime doesn't bother them. It doesn't any of the other critters and my geese don't mind it either...
Anyone know?

what kind of lyme are you using? if gardening lyme they will be fine

just pulverized type (powder) for horse stalls...yes, you can put it on your lawn too...

I spread organic traditions pelted garden lyme in my run to keep the smell down after the rain and it has never bothered the chooks. I think iof it was gonna hurt them you would know by now.
