I'm so sorry for your loss.

You should make other arrangements for your dog, Daisy. Obviously can NOT be trusted close to your birds.

My chicken killer has killed more than he was ever worth and every once in a while a dumb chicken will get in his pen and will be a goner in no time and every once in a blue moon he will get loose which can be really bad. I can't get rid of him because he is agressive toward any animals and a shelter will just put him down even though he is a sweet dog who loves people, he is not adoptable, and I am afraid of what would happen if I gave him to somebody and i really don't want to see him put down as i am very attached to him. So I know what it is to try to keep a chicken killer.

:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs I'm so sorry to hear that, you're in a really tough position. Try to keep them as separate as you can. More security will do wonders. Just find a way to work around the problem, I'm sure if you look closely you will find a solution. Dogs aren't superhuman. They can be outsmarted.

Sorry about that.

Next time remember to fix the pens/coop so they dont get out and try to keep the chickens separate from the dog or dogs. It is not a good combination for MOST breeds.

Thanks everyone for the huggles. But it's not my dog we're talking about. My dog would never hurt a feather, she justs herds them. It's my neighbors dog. But my neighbor's dog refuses to keep it leashed so more and more innocent avians die.

Then your neighbor is responsible for the damages. Tell him so, and if he doesn't pay up (and if it doesn't teach him to reign in his dog) then call animal control and pursue charges.
