Hi all,
I posted pics of these 2 Blue Copper Marans a few weeks ago, and got every possible answer. Clearly too young to identify. Then about a week ago I posted their lovely pink wattles - which I figure meant both were cockerels. I'm back again, because I'm just not sure... The lighter one has me thinking pullet, except for the pink comb & wattles. What do you all think? I'm also poating pics of the other 4 chicks for your input on their sex.
Thank you all!

this One is stumping me, all I can say is you probably have at least two cockerels and your rhodie is a girl
sorry I couldn’t help more
I strongly suspect the dark Blue is a cockerel, but I'm on the fence about the light one. The EE I suspect is a pullet. The Barred - I'm not sure yet.. Not much colour to their combs yet, but Bella is smaller with a longer tail feathers compared to Stella.
Oh the waiting game..:barnieJust for fun, what do you think about this EE - from an earlier hatch - 10 weeks old (9 weeks in these pics) I'm pretty sure she's a pullet but the tail throws me off.

Thank you! Seeing the red wattles at 4 1/2 weeks I figured they were both cockerels, but maybe it's wishful thinking has me hoping the light one is a pullet, but the tail feathers are different on them. Hopefully the barred rocks are pullets!

I have just raised some Barred Rocks. Look at their legs. If it has a lot of dark in it, it's a girl. If the legs are light, it's a boy.
The other clue is the feather pattern. Girls again are darker.
Here is an example of the difference in color. I think they were about 6 weeks old at this point. The difference in color/shade was 100% accurate. All the light grays turned out to be roosters and all the dark greys turned out to be girls.

Thank you, that's very helpful! They both seem to be similar in their dark colouring, but Stella has much more barring. I can see some darkness is the fronts of their legs in these pics from today, but I'll get a better look tomorrow.
