Pullets or cockerels?

My chicks are between 4-4.5 weeks old. There are three that I’m no so sure about the sex. I have a tiny little blue laced red wyandotte. She wasn’t growing much and is the same size as the silkie who is 1 week younger than her. In the last two days her comb has become pretty pink so I’m thinking she might not be a she.

The second is my lavender Orpington. She’s seems like a hen but she has what appear to be sickle feathers. Other than that her comb is small and she’s my sweetest chick.

The last one I hatched my self. He’s about 4 weeks and is what I’m assuming some type of game hen. He seems to have a cushion of pea comb by the looks of it. It’s not very big or red but then again he is younger than the rest.

To me, it looks too early to tell. Maybe not to other people. Really, the first crow is the defining thing to tell the sex of your chick. And if the chicken lays an egg, but the roosters will start crowing before hens start to lay, at least in my experience.

If you want real info and not just my ways, do your research. There are probably many articles that can give you clues.

Blrw may be a boy, not sure. The orp looks like a pullet to me and that third one. Wow what a bird. That thing looks like a straight up miniature eagle!

That’s what I was thinking as well! Hannibal is a beautiful bird and has such unique plumage. I can’t wait to see what he’ll look like when he’s full grown. He came out of a white egg and was a big chick when he hatched. That’s all I know.

Where did you get his egg from? I've never seen feathers that long on a chicken wing before. Can you post a wing picture with the wing spread?

I purchased the eggs from the local feed store. They get their eggs from their adult pairs they have for sale. Whatever cage that has a hen and roo together that start laying they sell the eggs. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see what adult pairs they had when I picked up the eggs. They typically have game hens and fancy breeds, so I’m going with game hen. I’ll try to get a picture of his wings spread!
