Hey everyone these are my RIR. They are about 5 weeks (hatched 4/11 - 4/13). I saw the mothers and fathers and they were all gorgeous Mahogany Reds. I can't wait to see them grown. I believe I have two roos, but I have a hunch there may be a third. I am planning to keep two roos. #3 will go back to the breeder. I have put my guesses ... what does everyone else think?

#1 - ????

#2 - Pullet

#3 - Pullet

#4 - Pullet

#5 - Cockrell (The one photo bombing is #6)

#6 - Cockrell

#5 and #6...ROO. Can't really tell on #4 from the angle on the pic, but you do have some ROOs in there!

Thank you all for your insight. I am worried about #1 as well. The tail feathers, while not as long as #5 or #6 do seem to be similar. #1's comb isn't as large are the other two but it is slightly larger than the ones I believe to be pullets. #5 and #6 have taken to jumping at each other on occasion now that I have expanded their brooder box. I have seen #1 in the mix, but not as often. #2 - #4 tend to run along the ground at the others not jump up. I am hoping #1 is a Tom-Pullet and will eventually act like her sisters.

I'm going with the crowd and saying the last two are cockerels. You're at the early end of the spectrum where I feel comfortable saying pullet for sure...it's easy to call rooster early when they have a comb, but if they don't have much, are they a girl or just a shy boy? but I think you're pretty safe here!

I am going to go against the grain here. I think #5 is definitely a cockerel but #6 could still be a hen if that comb doesn't start to turn pink/red.
