Pullets or Roos? Black Maran/Black copper maran

We got these 4 birds a couple weeks ago. The wheaten is definitely a hen. She'll be a year in October. The others were spring chicks, born in April. No one is crowing or laying yet. Any guesses on sex?

We were hoping for all pullets, but I honestly think we may have two Roos.

I've thought the same thing looking at other's photos. I should have said "they were sold to me as marans". The "wheaten" is laying a nice, dark brown egg, but not as dark as some I've seen.

They were hatched in April.

Yeah, the Wheaten isn't bad and that certainly appears to be a Marans egg, albeit a little light... but those supposed Black Coppers look more like mutts to me!

I only paid $10/each for them..and he gave us one because he wasn't 100% sure the sex either. So I'm OK with mutts, just hopefully egg laying mutts.
