I’ve got 2 babies that I hatched myself. I sexed them at day one & I got 1 boy & 1 girl. So far I think I did a a good job. The 1 I thought was a boy so far looks to be a boy. The other I’m not sure on. I’m hoping you guys can help. I know it’s early. 1st 2 pics are our rooster. The last 2 are of the one we hope is a girl.

From the look of the posture it might be a rooster. Look at the wing feathers, if it is short, long, short, long and so on its a hen, if straight, its a rooster. If the back of its head feathers are kind of pointy and stick out it might be a rooster, if they dont and simply slant downwards like the other neck feathers it might be a rooster. If it walks with its neck and head more upright and not as downward as a hen it might be a rooster.

I own and raise silkies. I had a black silkie I swore was a hen and showed all the signs of being a hen I showed up there, until it crowed.

If your desperate you could get an expensive blood test done to see what gender it is that is 100% fool proof

Without knowing if it crows or lays an egg, you dont really know.

Looks like you have a pair. First one male, second one female, based on combs.
Are these marans? I do not see their legs.
Wing sexing only works with certain crosses. Otherwise you have a 50% chance of getting it right. 😊

Rooster is langshen. Hen for “girl” is a black australorp. Hen for boy is a red speckled Sussex.
