Just picked up a truck load of pumpkins left over from a church pumpkin patch off Craigslist. Free storable chicken feed and dewormer!

How do you plan on storing it?

Dry cool place on cardboard after cleaning and wiping a small bit of olive oil. They're made for storing over winter. Might make a pie or 2 even though they're not the sweet kind.

I used to use that kind, they make fine pies, don't forget to make a couple pumpkin rolls also! Now I use neck pumpkins. You could always steam and mash some, then freeze it for baking.

Awesome on the free pumpkins.

My chickens don't like pumpkins though, they only eat the seeds out of them then leave the rest alone..

Its more of a texture thing at least for mine. Boiled or just soaked in water is enough to soften them up. Then they eat it right up. Same for garlic.
