Punishing a mean Easter Egger Rooster

He is a joy with humans! He will run up and you can hold without him squirming around. Id love for this guy to get his attitude problem fixed. Many people like him but the chicks, not so much. He use to be really shy but I just walked into the coop during the night and picked him up, held him for about 20 minutes, and ever since he has just been a very friendly person to humans. I realize that if he harms other chicks, he has got to go. It'll be tough. He stands out!

Sorry, hopefully it all works out!

If he's that badly behave, do what someone suggested and separate him for a few days. When he goes back in, he may be the one running from the others. That's what I would do if one was really worse than a normal bully chick. It does tend to shake up the pecking order in the group.

Years ago, I had some nasty hatchery Delaware chicks. They were positively evil little critters, bad temperament showing already, flighty, not at all what a Delaware should be. They ganged up on some Speckled Sussex and drew blood. I removed them for a few days. When I put them back, the others turned the tables on them and things were different. That didn't solve their flightiness and I sold them all, but they didn't pick on the other chicks again, at least not without some payback from the others. No more actual blood was drawn.

Thanks everyone! I separated him for 3 days and he seems to be doing better. My black sex-link hens were bullying him a bit... crazy! The hen he drew blood from got some revenge! My black sex-link hens tend to stick together so they kind of got him back by pecking and chasing him around. He slept alone last night. Everyone was grouped up and he just slept alone so I put him with the group and he fell asleep with his head on one of my Rhode Islands. I think the separation worked!
Thank you all! This site has helped me out a lot!!!!
