Pup got my hen!

About an hr ago our new pup got to my crippled hen and bit a big chunk out of her butt up on her thigh. I cleaned it with water and peroxide and tea tree oil but is there anything else I should do? Is she going to die?

Can you post a picture? It would help a lot.

keep her in a warm, dark place. Give her some water with electrolytes, or sugar if you have none. Make sure to keep her under as little stress as possible.

I just read on here last night not to use tea tree oil on our chickens.

flush the wound with diluted peroxide solution about half water half peroxide, put neosporin on the wound and keep her separated from the others, she sould do ok as long as the wound does not get infected. A family members dog got ahold of one of my hens this summer, gave her two punctures in the butt, she healed up just fine in a few days and her feathers were back within two weeks, give her some electrolyte solution fpor strenght while she heals
