Purchased Coops

Please let me know if you like it. I'm assuming you can't do the deep litter method with it? I ordered the Horizon Structures 4x6 coop a week ago - I can't wait for it to get here!

I did the deep litter method in mine. August through just a few weeks ago without cleaning it out totally. I don't have poop boards, which make it even worse. Love the DE for keeping everything under control. We had a terrible winter with around 70" of snow total, so they spent a lot of time in there. That's why I would like a much bigger coop. The DLM is also good for my big Cochins. They are heavy and when they jump down off their roost, they don't hit that hard floor.

Bill makes great playhouses, and you can have him make them larger to suit your needs.
He delivers too!
Much cheaper than buying a "coop".

I got mine from www.chickenmobilestagecoach.com. Rick is the guy that I was in touch with to get it. It is a chicken tractor and has an open floor but a closed up nest box area, heater, solar fan, etc.....I live in Tennessee so it cost 650 to ship it from TX. But, its a gr8 quality product and I'm very happy with it. Check out their website. We got the 4x10 one and I have 9 chickens. My chicks are only 3 weeks old so hopefully in next couple weeks we can have them outside in the tractor.

So do they build and ship? All I seemed to find on your link was I could purchase the plans. If you don’t mind me asking what was the cost of your 4x10 coop? I will have 12 birds. Thanks!

Unfortunately neither of those peeps have been on in several years. This thread is 11 years old.
