Purchased older food

Hi all

I am new here. I have a flock of 75 CornishX -almost three weeks old. I am still feeding them starter mix. I will be switching them to grower mix in a week or so. I recently bought 250 lbs of broiler grower mix from my local mill. It was dated October, 2012. This seems a bit old. Are they trying to pawn off old feed on the new guy or will this feed be OK for these fast growing birds?

It was ground in October?

It looses vital nutrients over time after ground.. I wouldn't want something ground that was that old.. but if it was whole grains, I would.

I've been reading up after your question. 6 months is max shelf life, and you are already at 6 months. Best to return it for a fresh batch. When it doubt right?
