Lets keep in mind that the bird in question is 4 weeks old in the pic. I thought everything feathered out faster than that. I am still stumped to what it is and would love to see some better pics and to know where it came from. I have never seen a turkey poult marked like that in any color and it would have a little bump above its beak. Also it has been years since I have had baby peafowl but I dont remember them looking like that either. Is it possible that it is a baby silver pheasent? Does anyone have baby pics of those?
Males of some breeds take a long time to feather out. I have a white Cochin cockerel that's about 8 weeks old, and he still looks funny. His feet and wings are feathered, but only a small strip down his back is! He's so wierd looking. I'd bet yours is a boy, especially since he was a freebie.
