Pure Saxony Duckling

Hello I have a 4 week old Saxony duckling and recently he wouldn't eat his duck food so I gave him egg to give him a boost and now he is Sort of eating it. But I have just noticed that his skin on his chest is turning pink/red is there something wrong with him? What do I do? I love him so much

Did you give him grit when you gave him non processed foods?

I don't think so... What is grit and is it bad that I didn't?

They need grit to properly "chew" their food for proper digestion. I would sprinkle it on his food if he's still eating and if not offer a small bowl of it. I'm not sure what to do about the redness or swelling. Hopefully someone with more experience can guide you in proper treatment and evaluation.

Does it look like some one may be chewing on him/her ducklings will do things like this to each other, using something like triple antibiotic or Veterycin spray but a pic would really be nice.

No he's the only duckling I have. I think it's getting better on its own. I can't see it anymore
