I know this isn't what you are asking for but have you considered the slow growing broilers?? or something like the red rangers/red broilers?? something that is designed to be ready after 12 weeks closer to 16 weeks?Got it - thanks. Sounds like a good project for our 4H junior leaders to work on, perhaps with white cornish from a different hatchery.
I have 3 red broilers that I got from privet hatchery(because thats where my local feed store orders from) that we got a year ago and as far as I can tell( they are in with other birds) they are laying still... We have actually been hatching from this pen with the intention of taking some of these to our local fair in july.
I know not what you were asking about but could be an option for kids that do not want to have to butcher all the meat birds at the same time.
