These are 8-9 wks old and were hatched from eggs collected from my completely mixed flock of chickens. Do you think they are purebred (I do have 1 ss hen and 1 roo)? I think they are all pullets... what do you think?

(the 2 in the back in this pic)

both of my adult speckled sussex are "only" hatchery stock and they also have too much white... I am just trying to figure out if these are potentially purebred not SQ

I would *LOVE* to find a chart that shows leg color dominance, comb dominance & color/pattern dominance....

my speckled sussex hen and roo (they do like to hang out together... but everyone free ranges)

They very well could be purebred. Some of them have alot of white on them when they're young. The younger pullets tend to have a darker face, and the young roos tend to have a whiter chest.

They look like my hatchery pullets. Combs and leg color look right, I think the big thing will be to be sure the legs are really the correct color--hard to tell on pics sometimes.

YAY! How cool is it that I ended up with 3 purebred speckled sussex pullets out of a random egg collection f4rom a mixed flock lol - I suppose it is karma since when I bought two "pullets" from the feed store I ended up with one pullet and a roo
