this is purely hypothetical but if the air cell to an egg was open even before an internal pip what would happen?? Just curious!
Thanks x

ide guess the inner membrane would dry, harden, and shrink. trapping the duckling and suffocating it

i broke an egg and glued a patch over it and hatched tho
So it could be possible to hatch a egg from day 1 with an open air cell?

mabye a 99.9% chance

it would have to be a sterile enviroment with A1 perfect conditions

People can hatch yolks in a bowl but its scientific not for everyday

Would it be possible? Hypothetically, with great care. Is it likely? Not at all.
The people who can hatch an egg after removing the shell are doing it in a very controlled environment, sterile, contained so it can't dry out. There's no membrane, so no membrane to dry out. Even that has a low success rate.
If we're just talking about an egg with a hole in the shell, that's a hole in the shell. Eggs with holes in them don't hatch.
