Purina flock raiser

I also feed Flock Raiser, which is available fresh at my local feed stores. Depending on where you live, another choice might be better, just because of issues with freshness. Old feed isn't better! Tucker Mill isn't available here, so it's not a choice I can make.
I'd like to have Flock Raiser pelleted feed, but again, nobody stocks it here.
Happily, the Flock Raiser has been a great choice for my birds for many years.

I don't think Purina offers pellets in the FR any more... at least they sure don't have it on their website.

And the crumble I have been getting lately is definitely a lot more dust than I'm used to. Wasn't an issue when I fermented, now I'm not sure how it will play out yet.

I know this was from April of last year, but I am seeing a lot of people commenting around on the forums that flock raiser isn't made in pellet form anymore. I thought that was weird since I saw half a pallet of it at Tractor Supply today. Like @EggSighted4Life said, Purina only shows crumbles on their official site. I sent them an email to ask about what is going on, since clearly my local TSC has access to the pellets!

One of my LFS had a pallet of pellets late last year... poor turn over equals OLD mill dates in stock at stores that ordered more than they sold in what I consider a reasonable amount of time.

Can't wait to see their response to you! :pop

Yeah......the mill date was not exactly.....fresh. I think it was early December? So not HORRIBLY old. But not super fresh. I think the test will be to see if there is a fresh pallet out next time I stop by. This was my first trip to that specific store, so I have no idea how fast they go thru feed or if what I saw was a weird coincidence. I could probably call and talk to someone at the store, but at this point I am going to wait to see what Purina says. I am betting I will hear something like "some of our mills make it, some don't".

My TSC has it sporadically. I go there about monthly. In nearly 3 years I've only seen it 3 times. 20180824_173755.jpg . 20180508_172451.jpg . GC

Here is the official word.

"Thank you for your question. We do still manufacture Flock Raiser Pellets. Most stores carry the crumbles since it is an all life phases feed because the crumbles are easier for young birds. I would suggest contacting your local Purina Mills Certified dealer to see if they are able to get the pellets. Please go to www.purinamills.com and then click on where to buy. Put your zip code in and it will give you the name of stores near you. If you have questions, please let me know."
