Not true Cynthia I too called them and was told they stopped making medicated game bird feeds--- the entire line from startrena to maintenance.

The only thing I can think of is Purina Mills is marketing different products for different area's. "Our bags do not say Pheasant".

They actually lost my business, I switched to Payback by CHS, 28% Protein turkey starter. My birds dove into it the minute it hit the feeder. I bought a #ton for $504.00 which is $12.60 a bag, plus no tax with the farm account, so a good deal in all. I think this week was their biggest weight gain.

Purina Game Chow was $15.49 and I couldn't get a break on a #ton anywhere. I had to be a distributor. But I did lose 2% protein".

Everyone "Read Your Labels".

So Purina Mills, how much profit did you make on my 40 bags. "Zero, Nada, Zip"

I'm honestly not even going to bother worrying about finding another dealer. TSC sells 24% Dumor chick starter, so I'll just go with that. If Purina can't standardize the labels and advertise their products properly, then I can't be bothered to search specifically for their products.

The 24% is $2 cheaper per bag anyways. I'd prefer to go with the 30%, but not with all of this crap.

All of this, not to mention, that they're VERY STINGY with their coupons. I emailed a few months ago to see if they had coupons. They had none, so I emailed back later, and they said "well, we'll send you ONE coupon". I asked for a coupon for two different types. I didn't get the coupon, BTW, they never sent it.

Ok, folks, let's quit this. This is new information posted, not really a reopening of the other thread since that subject was not actually what this company sells, but was " Starter or regular GBF for adult coturnix?" Apparently, there is a discrepancy of information in these feed lines, perhaps a locality issue. None of us are going to solve it and maybe there is really nothing to solve. What is available in your area is what is available. I don't know why, I don't know how, I just know what was available three years ago from personal experience. There was not intended as inflammatory against Purina, just an attempt to get information here. Since I can get certain feed brands in my area and other folks cannot in their area, I'm betting much of it is a regional/locale thing.

If feed is medicated with anything, it will be on the label. If quail should not have meds of any type, then just read your labels carefully. I do not want some big argument here and since no matter what is posted, seems an argument ensues, so I'm going to lock this thread and leave it here so the label image posted can be reviewed by the membership who are interested. Going round and round isn't helping anyone.
