I wonder what it is, I usually feed Modesto Mills and they don't have smelly poo at all on that. I guess I need to look at the ingredients more closely.
No experience with Purina for Quail, I generally dislike them as a company so I try to avoid them. However, my southern states starter is very smelly compared to my Hudson feeds pellets. I feed the inside quail Hudson feed even tho it’s more costly. One of my original double silvers did far better on hudson feed, and I noticed the difference in smell, so even since she’s passed I’ve kept feeding the 4 inside quail the better smelling feed. I think it’s some kind of plant or vegetable product in the southern states, it smells like rotting veggies when it’s wet.
Yes, rotting veggies is accurate. I wet the feed to make a mash for the first couple weeks. I may be moving everyone outside soon, the smell is not fun! Modesto Milling I'd my favorite feed, no smelly poop at all. I'll have to look into what your using if I can't get more soon.
The Hudson feed is on chewy.com it’s like $30-32 for 50 lbs, not great but not bad for shipped feed. I buy 2 bags at once to get free shipping.
Very reasonable prices, Modesto is like $65 per bag, but it's organic so you know how that goes lol. I wish I had a local mill!
My local mill makes other feeds, but orders in the southern states because they don’t make a gamebird feed.
