Purina Medicated Chick Feed

Can anyone tell me what the medicated feed has in it and what it protects against.

I dont have mine vaccinated, but the choice is yours if you want to vaccinate or not, and with what you want to vaccinate against. Here's a couple of links for you to read:

Ok I understand now. I have used medicated starter for all of my chicks over the years and never had one become ill due to vitamin deficiency. You can use this feed from hatch to 8 weeks usually, sometimes more. The medication provides a fatal vitamin B1 deficiency to some stages of the coccidia parasites, which significantly reduces your baby fowl of becoming seriously ill.

The actual medication to treat coccidia goes by the brand name Corid (amprolium), which is also used in medicated feeds.
