Hi everyone! I have an 8 and a half week old Egyptian Fayoumi rooster and he’s been acting very lethargic lately. Just standing around, looks kind of curled up and doesn’t scratch around like everyone else. When I go to pick him up he does run away like usual but when I just leave him and watch him he’s just standing there. He will only occasionally peck at things. His comb and wattles also seem purplish and not bright red like my other baby roosters. Any idea what might be wrong with him?

He's sick. With exactly what, is just going to involve guessing.

It could be coccidiosis. You can give him a round of Corid and see if it improves him. It could be an avian virus. If he doesn't improve after Corid, you might suspect he has a virus. There is no treatment for avian viruses unless the chicken is experiencing a bacterial infection from the virus lowering immune response.

If the chickens have been out free-ranging, he may have picked up a bacterial infection. If he doesn't respond to Corid within a couple days of it, I would start him on an antibiotic.
