Pus filled sores in and on my hens beak, what is this and how do I treat her?

My little hen started losing weight a few weeks ago and was very weak. I brought her inside and fed her by hand a few days until she got her strenght back and she is now eating on her own, but today when i got home i looked at her mouth and she has three big sores with pus on the outside of her beak and her mouth seems to be filled with pus her face color has dulled alot and she smells. It looks like shes breathing okay but she having trouble eating. I dont know what this is and i really dont lose my baby girl, any help on idetification and treatments would be wonderful. Please and Thank you

I am sorry I haven't had this problem but have looked up others. Try a search on the forum with the key words of sores on beak and in mouth maybe. Very often there will be a thread that has already discussed this.

Sounds like it might be canker. Do a search of the forum and see if the symptoms fit. Good luck.

Sorry the link didn't help. Check with your local co-op or poultry supply store and ask them. Maybe they can suggest an appropriate medication.
