Pus in leg joints

I know that sounds like a death sentence, but some one gave me a chick.... I have MANY chickens of various ages. Never dealt with this before.

It's got pus in it's joints in the legs.

I made it a chick chair so it has the weight off the leg joints (hopefully while it heals). I'm "force feeding" food and water.

For such a sick chick, it's quite loud and energetic. I can take pics of the joint if that helps, but where the bend is, there is inflammation and pus.

I have given it sulmet. What about Pen? I have bottle of that for the goats.

Any other suggestions? I tried doing the leg hobbles and it made the situation MUCH worse, which made me figure out the chick chair.

How often should I feed/water it? I'm doing it as often as I think about it. It's not pooping/peeing as much as I would like....

You can give the area a soak of warm compress and put some antibiotic ointment on the joint and get some antibiotics. She needs water ever 2 hours put some sugar or corn syrup (but not honey) in it for calories. And see if she will drink some ACTIVE CULTURE buttermilk it might start her pooping.

I've been putting providone idodine ointment on it. Is that good or should I use something else?

Sulmet is not an antibiotic. I don't know the dose of Pen g for a tiny chick so can't help with that, but if it's powdered you can sprinkle it directly on the cleaned wound.
