Put chicks under broody who has only been sitting 1 week?

Hi all,
Out of 24 eggs in the incubator I'm only getting two chicks, looks like. Oh well. I happen to have a broody hen but she has only been sitting for a week. The chicks are due in three days (Mother's Day!) and I'm thinking of trying to put the chicks under my broody after they hatch (and at night). Do you think it would work even though she has only been sitting for a week? I moved her tonight and put her in a crate on top of 2 fake eggs. She is a Dominique. Should I try it?

Did this work for you? I am wondering the same thing
I have eggs in the incubator due to hatch Sat. and had one of my hens just start acting broody out of nowhere. Wondering now if I should give her a few babies.

I never tried it after all - none of the eggs in my incubator made it.

I now have three determined broodies and DH is going to make them a broody mini-coop so we can let them sit on eggs. Hope we have better success than with the incubator...
