Put eggs in the bator 9-9-12 anyone want to hatch along????? :0)

Glad you got some hatched out! :celebrate So sorry that the rest didn't make it. :hit I've never messed with silkies, what's the vaulted skulls? :idunno

The vaulted skulls look like these two (one standing up - dark blue) and the light grey coloured one. The rest don't seem noticeable yet.

All my eggs have been shipped.
My first shipment was EE and only 2 hatched out of 15.
My second was supposed to be Swedish Flower Hens, but only my 1 Golden Campine hatched out - out of 33 (box was majorly damaged when I got it).
Third was some eggs from a super nice lady that felt bad I had such bad luck out of 15 - 5 hatched (1 died at 24 hours old, 1 died after it got booted out of the heat lamp from the others

).

I was totally done after that. All those were from my LG bator that kept spazzing out on me. We also got evacuated from out house for 1 day during wild fires and I think that's what did most my eggs in from my GC hatch. I was gonna hatch out some more but after I got a new bator in the spring.

Then my GLW went broody so got some SFH from a guy that wants to trade eggs (luckily he doesn't want his eggs until spring). He sent me 5 - 4 hatched!!!

But then the lady that the Campine came from realized she sent me the wrong eggs, she offered to send me a new batch - so of course I HAD to buy a new bator!!! and since it holds 42 eggs and she was only sending me 15 (or 22 is what arrived) I HAD to buy some more eggs - which of course were used as speed bumps for the USPS trucks.

So... After all my chicken drama! My broody has had the best hatch rate. My hatch rate SUCKS! I'm hoping a new bator will help with that.

I know, I ramble, I'm sorry it happens!!!

Don't worry about the rambling, I do it too.

So the eggs that were sent from the lady that sent you the Golden Campine are they the ones in the bator now? Wishing you good luck with your eggs and new bator.

May the waiting game commence! - This is my least favorite game!
Good luck!!!!!! I know it is crazy but, this is the stressful part of the hatch and hopefully the most rewarding.

I did not have the best hatch. Everyone was very late. I was at a show over the weekend, so I wasn't around to monitor things. 2 silkies were very dried out after fully zipping, but stuck. One died, one is fine with some help. 2 EEs died. 1 in the brooder, 1 after pipping. 2 EEs that were late are having issues with their umbilical area. They haven't come out of the incubator yet. I want them to be alone until the areas dry up a bit. 1 chick due to hatch today hatched yesterday.. Anyway. It was my worst hatch yet. I am not keeping the incubator in the basement any more. Too hard to hold temperatures steady

We did get a few really nice silkie chicks with vaulted skulls.
Awwwe, I am sorry about your little ones that didn't make it. Trust me I feel your pain.

Congrats on the little fluffy butts that did make it.

Cute, is this what you hatched out?
No these were my first chicks from my first hatch. The ones I hatched out have not yet been photographed. I'll have to do it tonight :) Still have many more eggs in the incubator in lockdown. Hopefully me taking the others out didn't hurt them. The humidity didn't drop bellow 60%. I hold it in with a fitted sheet when I remove chicks.

I just checked my four eggs that are left, two are pipped, with one starting to zip, so hopefully they are out in the morning, can't wait. My silkie did a good job incubating them. So excited.
