One of my silkie hens has decided to sit on some eggs. One of the problems is that she sat on one at a time. Now we have 8 under her. Today I candled them all and, as expected, they are all at various stages of development.
One seems to be at 13 days according to the candling and one really close to that as well. A few weren't showing any signs of fertilization.
Okay, dilemma. This first one is scheduled to hatch next weekend and we'll be gone! Should I continue to let her (Isabel) sit on them all (we've brought her and the eggs inside because it's really not good hatching weather outside) or should I put them in the incubator, or should I only put in the incubator the ones that will be ready to hatch this coming weekend (when we're gone!) or what?
Any advice would be welcome. Thanks!
