It will be fine to put them on tie cords I use rubber flexicord with a leg hitch on one end and a rebar stake on the other and they do fine with a teepee( A frame) just make sure you put the stake back far enough that he can onlyjump up on one end or he'll end up hanging by his leg if you don't set it up right but other than that they work great for roosters I use them for my game roosters youcan get the cords from oak ridge game farms webpage they're like 65cents per foot hitches to everything you would need
