Cold? What is cold? I don't remember cold. Can you please send some of that cold down here? It's so hot & muggy I have to take a shower after going out to do the morning chicken chores, I get that sweaty & sticky! Bleh!

I'm glad the hen is happy with her chicks, it's a good sign that she's talking to them. I would use that heat lamp sparingly if at all, the hen should be able to do a good job of keeping her chicks warm without it. She should soon be willing to take the chicks out on walks to the food & water, do some scratching & bluck-bluck-blucking to them, and then let them back under her feathers to warm up again. Maybe just use the lamp at night, or put some straw or a blanket over the kennel to keep her own warmth in & the drafts out.

Have fun!
