I read about marbles and river stones. I'm an old hippie and have a ton of crystals around here. Does anyone see a problem with using them?:old

Depends on what they are made of. Make sure it's food grade. Some old glass can have lead in it, some plastics are not safe. I'd stick to marbles or smooth stones. You only need them for a couple of days. And as PDR says, many folks never use them. Personally, I use marbles for a couple of days.

Hey, I would use them if I needed them, If I had a problem. I been raising chicks for 40 some years, but not a lot until the last few year, 10,000 in a little over 3 years and have never had a problem------so to me if I used them-----they would just be something else to clean----with some times having chicks in over 20 brooders--I Don't Need Anything Else To Clean----LOL.
