!!!!! also I hear that silkie eggs hatch early so when mine hatch mine might hatch early. I am kinda sad because if mine hatch early then the other ones that need to hatch on the 18th might not because the hen might not want to sit on the eggs anymore!!!

Oooh! Um... Yeah, that's awkward! All you can do is wait and see, Chicken Tamer! Either that or fire up an incubator for the others for their last few days, just in case!!!

Ooh, I'll try that, dandydoodle! I have to admit I'm kinda six on one, half dozen on the other on keeping him. Among other things, with a new baby roo coming I'd need separate housing situations eventually. And even though I'm pretty sure I could get him to be reliable with me, I don't think I'd ever get him to that point with other people, and I like being able to let them free-range (well, at least after the garden is in!!!) I'm renting -- landlady has 7 and 9 year old nephews who come visit a lot, plus odd and assorted friends, some with little 'uns, so in fact I'm pretty sure I'll be rehoming him eventually. Maybe after he sires me a few more babies

In the meantime, though, I'm gonna try your suggestion! Learning how to 'tame' roosters is definitely a good skill to have.

*bounces*!!!! Yes indeed! Not long now! I candled mine and the lil guys are all smooshed in there, nearly filling the eggs, sooooo close to the day that they pop out to say "hi!". Thinking pullet thoughts at the three I have left. They HAVE to be pullets. No more boys LOL!

Awww! Wullus, they're so sweet together!!! Although when the chick gets older it's going to be like me with my big hulking 6'2" teenage son... (Who's not even close to a teenager anymore, pout! They grow up so quick.)

LOL! Let me know if that works, Aschenfire! I'm down to 7 eggs (pout!!!!), two of which may be problematic. Won't know till hatch, I'm pretty sure.
