Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

Thank you

Yep, they will purposefully yank feathers from their breast/belly for better heat conduction. Get some eggs you want to hatch under that girl STAT!

I'm jealous -- I want a broody! Just ordered a speckled sussex and some australorps, hoping I'll get one...

I. CANT. STOP. CANDLING.

Seriously, I need an intervention. I love watching them wiggling and swimming. I think it may be better than being pregnant. I think if I got an ultrasound whenever I wanted while preggers then I'd very likely stare at it non-stop every day for 9 months.

You're not gonna get an intervention from me!

Although I'm finally to the point where I can restrain myself till nightfall -- then I turn out all the lights in the room, open the 'bator, and candle 'em all right next to it. Very quick and efficient. I can't stop candling either -- it's absolutely fascinating watching their development. Besides, it's my first time! (That's my excuse, anyway...) And I have to agree with you on the ultrasound -- reality TV at it's finest! When are you due?

no nothing yet it sucks ... but some eggs got under her later then others so
Did you candle? I imagine there has to be something alive under her or I would think she would just quit sitting on them. Be patient and I will keep my fingers crossed for ya.

i will candle them today .. but theres nothing even peeping no holes ... some has been in there for the full 22 days and some were in for like 20 days or so

From what I've read 22 days isn't that uncommon. Although I'd be on pins and needles, too! Let us know what happens with the candling -- even if your hen's body temperature is a little low or something I'd think you'd be seeing some pips by tonight (not that I'm an expert or anything; I just read a lot
