i had around 10 new silkies hatch in my incubator a day ago. All the eggs came from a silkie hen of mine who the day after removing all her eggs but 1 decided to go broody. The one egg she is sitting on has been under her for a couple weeks. Can I put the 10 new born chicks under her? My big concern is less with her and more with the silkie roosters in the pen.

I've stuck newly hatched chicks under broodies before, and it worked great. Just watch for aggression -- different hens will react differently. I suggest doing it in the evening or early morning (before sunrise) when the flock is calmest. Once she accepts the chicks, however, she won't devote herself to hatching the one egg she's sitting on now. Giving her the new chicks would mean sacrificing the one egg (unless you put that one in your incubator). Good luck!
