Putting up Christmas lights today! :)

if I was to live like that... I would be insane.. I definatly had to give on lots of things or my husband and I would have killed each other .... I still have to give in more... as you can see by my posts.. we both have ideas of perfection....

If i get christmas lights up and my husband does it.. then great.. they get done... and I didnt have to do it.. we are so busy..

I love decorating for Christmas last year I had 6 theme trees. This year we are remodeling the kitchen. Everything is going down to the bare studs then new wire, installation, drywall, floor, cabinets, and appliances. WOW Everything has come in and is sitting in the dinning room and foyer. Everything is all over and a real dusty mess. At first he said it would be done by Thanksgiving and now hes saying Christmas...I think its just his way of keeping me from decorating this year.

Thank god I aint your decorator lol. Our house looks like the north pole. Our bill is realy high during christmas. For the tree we change the ornaments, garland and lights every year.

Our electrical is outrageous here, so I am hoping all the LED lights we purchased on clearance last year will curb the bill a little

LEDs use a very low wattage so your bill cost will be down a few bucks. I have not been able to find any LED lights yet. If I cant I will buy on ebay

My mom ususlly waits to find good deals. Halloween stuff is on clearence but she does not like what she sees.

I'm going to start looking around for the perfect decorations soon. This is our first year in our new house:

And I want it to look very pretty and classy.

I too like only white lights, though I don't mind if they are icicle lights, or anything else, just no blinking...

We change the lights on our tree every other year, from colored to white. DH likes the colored lights

I just think there is a fine line between festive and trashy and it's really easy to cross over into trashy with colored lights outside.

I have seen some solid colored lights that look nice IMO, solid red, solid green, solid blue.

I'm trying to talk my DH into putting lights up along the roofline but he's never done it before and I think he might be scared he'll fall, which is understandable.

I want those little fake candle lights in all the windows but I'm having a hard time finding battery powered ones, and a couple of BIG wreaths on the front of the house with lights on them, maybe a nice fluffy garland of greenery over the front door and another small wreath on it as well.
I also plan to put another BIG lighted wreath on the front of my barn, under the hay loft door:

If I can swing it I wouldn't mind a couple of those white light deer in my front yard either....
