PVC pipe feeder

That was hubby's design.

I've been playing around with the angles, and the 60° seems like it would work much better than the 90°. And definitely 3"-4" pipe.

I have tipped it downward but they just scattered the feed because it collected too much so I want to remake it with a 60 degree and see what happens. I just have so much other stuff to do it seems I can't get back to that project!
Thanks for the input. I can always use some help!

I don't think that this would work for ducks as they like to take a drink and then some food and back to the water again. Their food ends up being rather wet and porridge-like and I think cleaning it out each day would be a hassle.

I agreem it needs to be tipped upwards and probably is not useful for chicks or ducks...but yes, I love being able to put a week's supply in there from the feed room. One less thing to bring with me on the way inside. Some day I might be able to set up waterers from there, as Tori has.

Yes........4" works perfectly for me.
I have 4" with 16" on the bottom for actual feeding.
The upright pipe is 40 inches tall.
In that coop I have 4 Fully grown BR's and 5 almost grown RIR's.
If I fill the 40" to the top, it will last 3-4 days.

Its very nice.

I wondered about using two 45 degree curves, or a 60 and a 30 - and I was thinking I would need to have some straight pipe between the curves to allow things to keep flowing - do you think that could work? I only have a small coop and 4 chickens - so I don't really need it to store more than 10 lbs of food at one time - so could I use 3" pipe and two gentle curves instead of 1 90 degree one? Do you think that would work?
