PVC Pipe Pens

sorry I haven't posted photos yet, the kids took off with my camera yesterday and I can't find it now!

I took the pics, but can't seem to download without the camera.

The coop is 4' high I think, and we made it 8x15. Rather than buy the expensive special fittings, my dh made panels that he later attached to make the shape. Oh dang, if I could just find that camera...it will turn up today I'm sure-- kids will be cleaning house for me until it is found!

Ha ha...funny how fast kids move when the threat to clean whole house arises...

Here are some pics, please let me know if there's anything you want to see close up (and as everyone on this board posts "please excuse the mucky water").

maralynn28, isn't that just too funny how that happens? My daughter is five, but I know what I can easily threaten her with to get her compliance in anything!
By the way maralynn, that duck house and pen is SUPER CUTE!!! I love it!

Maralynn-I really like your run. Do you lock your flock up at night? If not, Do you have ducks that cannot fly to keep them it? Also, about how much did it cost to make this? thanks for the inspiration

I really expected a fail, but then he made it and I wouldn't have it any other way! It's so easy to move, we can even detach it to mow the lawn. The kids can go in and feed them peas, and cleaning is a cinch. The hose coming out of the pool drains the mucky water directly into my garden. I guess I know better than to question dh now, he did a great job with both pen and run.

Yes, there are locks on the pen so we lock them up at night and let them out in the morning, and when we are hanging out at home I open it up so they can free range. No they can't fly, but I did have some netting on top (with shiny cds attached) to keep out the hawks when they were little. I could have left it on but having it open makes it so much easier to get in and move around.

eta: I'm going to have to ask dh how much it cost, but it couldn't have been more than 50-60$ (minus the pen) because we bought a few other little things and I know the final at checkout was about 60$.

That's funny, my 5yr old son was actually the one who lost it but the threat caused my 8yr old to jump into action to help him so she wouldn't have to clean too. lol
