My chickens have been kept in a large dog kennel during the night and let out during most of the day, but recently my sister thought it would be a great idea to get a dog, so we can't keep my girls out in the open anymore (the dog will try to chew on them. It's happened before and it's terrible). I was wondering if there was a simple run I could make, maybe out of PVC pipe. I have plenty of chicken wire and I can get pipe.
I have seven hens and twelve pullets, but we're not putting the pullets outside yet. They're all standard sized (except for two of the pullets, which are bantams). I was thinking I could make a frame out of PVC, and then attach wire to the sides, but I have absolutely no idea how I would go about doing that.
Thank you for any help!

Here is a run I just built out of PVC. The wire is a combo of welded steal and hardwire cloth. The wire is extended about a foot down in the ground. The wood sides are "12 wide wood planks that go about 6" down in the ground. I used zip ties to attach but am waiting for my friends pig ring pliers to strengthen. I plan to add an electric wire around the bottom and attach to the electric horse fence so I can leave the coop open at night. When my additional six pullets join the three I have I want them to be able to all get out first thing in the am. It didn't take me much time to do. About three days on and off by myself.
