Q's about Pygmy in heat.....

LOL

What I have learned is this...

1) expect the unexpected
2) Murphy's Law ALWAYS applies
3) they're not pregnant until they're pushing!

It's SO hard to tell on some goats. Really it is. It will give you a thousand headaches. Deep palpation on the right side of her tummy MIGHT cop you a little feel of a fetus. Maybe. Oft not, however.

Just keep an eye on that udder. If it grows...then ya know. If the vulva changes go away in a couple days...t'was probably just a heat.

I will definitely be doing all of the above. I was just going out to check on her. Thanks soooooo much again. You have brought some sigh of relief even if she is pregnant.

Ok! Here's what I know and I have had pygmys for several years.

They can be breed at 3 months but it isn't recommended, they do get a little oopy when coming in heat and swell but the bag doesn't swell to my thinking. They will act really friendly toward you and maybe even the wether. Are you sure it's a wether? If when banded a ball

(hope I can say that?) was missed -pushed up- he may very well not be a wether-you should be able to tell by looking

How long have you had them? A goat is pg for 150 days(5 months) give or take 3-4 days.. About a month or maybe two depending on the goat(everyone is different) before she would give birth she will start making a bag and she could oopy a little off and on through out the time of being pg. She would start swelling in her vulva about the same time as making bag if she is pg. The yellowish discharge could mean infection also.
Maybe a vet check is best.

Hope this helps.
