I would definitely keep them separate. Chickens require different food, roosting arrangements, older chickens could hurt young ducks, ducks need a ton of water, chickens require dry spaces. Give the ducks a space of their own.

I keep my Waterfowl (Geese/ducks) housed with my chickens, and have been doing that for several years with no problems. However, there are several things that need to be taken into consideration before doing so. If you'd like to learn more about those specifications, it might be best to post on the Duck forum and we can further explain why.
