The pond has been in place for awhile but the ducks were only allowed in it on Sunday. I don't think I'll be able to give a fair assessment of the biofilter until I have a lot more plants. They ate a lot of the floating plants before I properly blocked the area off and a lot of my other plants died back to their roots upon transplantation. I believe they'll come up next year without an issue as I can see the roots are still healthy. SO, next year with more plants I'll see how it really works. Right now I have such a large water mass that it isn't that dirty with 8 ducks in it.OK, you're 3 months in. How's the duckponics working? I'd love to find a less smelly pond option for our 3 ducks... right now, if I don't dump the baby pool every other day it reeks.
We do have a natural creek behind our house, but I can't come up with a way to let them roam freely but still be relatively safe from predators.
Thanks!
